Subscribe: ► https://www.youtube.com/leighfugeguit... In this video I'll be taking a look at Surfytrem and Surfyvibe from Surfy Industries. These two pedals give you those classic surf guitar era vibrato tones from classic amps. The Surfyvibe is based on the mono channel of the Magnatone 280 which was a tube driven vibrato. Surfy Industries have replicated this with the help of some JFETs in place of the tubes. The pedal also has a secondary mode called Sweeping mode which gives you a more modulated sound, similar to a mix of phaser, tremolo and chorus. The Surfytrem is based off two distinct Fender amps. It has a Brownface and a Blackface mode. The Brownface mode is based off a 1961/62 Showman Vibrato channel, which is more of a Harmonic Tremolo effect. This is a rich, swirly effect not too dissimilar to a Leslie speaker. If you switch this over to the Blackface mode, you get a more distinct, choppy volume based tremolo sound. In the video I am using my Schecter Diamond Series Nick Johnston guitar. The guitar is plugged into the Blackstar Studio 10 6L6 which is mic'd with a Lewitt Audio LCT440 Condenser Mic. In front of the amp is a Surfy Industries Surfy Bear Classic Spring Reverb unit.
