Power BI Video 3: Creating Report Visuals In this video, which is the third in an introductory series, we build on what we learned in the two videos and learn how to create visual elements in our Power BI report. Specifically we will look at data cards, bar charts and columns charts, line charts and maps. We will explore how to format these visuals as well as test out how they interact with each other. We will also take a first attempt at writing a simple DAX formula. All this will set us up nicely for the next video in this series where we will look at adding more interactivity and insights by using slicers in our Power BI report. 📊 Power BI Series: Getting Data Refining and Linking Your Data Creating Visual Elements (this video) Using Slicers to Gain Insights Share Report To Wider Audience Chapters: 0:00 Introduction & recap 0:48 Data disclaimer 0:57 Touring the report view (data, build, format, filters panes) 2:13 Creating your first visualization 2:30 Building a card & changing summarization to median 3:05 Changing visualization types 3:24 Formatting the card (call out value, labels, title, size) 4:59 Copying a visual & counting students (count distinct) 6:42 Creating a clustered bar chart by subject 7:33 Formatting the bar chart (axes, data labels, size) 9:01 Creating a line chart by exam date 9:27 Working with the date hierarchy 10:29 Formatting the line chart 11:14 Creating a map & switching to ArcGIS 11:52 Adding median score to bubble size 12:12 Fixing misplaced cities with a DAX calculated column 15:30 Formatting the map (tools, theme, title) 16:06 Interactive cross-filtering across visuals 17:07 Recap For more information on basic Power BI skills, see my Power BI Basic Guide at https://lib.unb.ca/guides/power-bi-ba...
