How we take apart, weld and reassemble a peerless 2300 transaxle. Alright there a lot of work that goes into doing a job like this, and there is not much room for messing around. A peerless 2300 series transaxle is a four-speed with reverse and is I almost identical to a peerless 1200 series transaxle. These are a oil filled transaxle so you were going to want to drink your oil Before you split the case. The easy part is opening the case and welding your spider gear ring/bull gear assembly. The hard part is reinstalling the case and lining up everything. It will take a bit of messing around with a flat blade in your shifter hole to align your dowels to the corresponding holes in each side of the transaxle case. You’re going to want to put a gasket maker of some sort on your case half’s or else you will have a leak. We will be reinstalling this into our off-road mower scrappy so stay tune for part 3,4 and who knows how many more!
