Naju Civic Choir

나주시립합창단 제18회 정기연주회 '탱고미사' Naju Civic Choir - The 18th Regular Concert 'MISA TANGO' Jubilate Deo - Motshwane Pege 작곡 (곡 중 Solo Sop. Jubilate Deo was written by South African composer Motshwane Pege and won first prize in a composition competition celebrating the 20th anniversary of New Dublin Voices. Setting the opening words of Psalm 100 in Latin, the work features an eight-part mixed choir accompanied only by hand and foot body percussion. Its lively choral textures, shifting meters, and syncopated rhythms create a vibrant and rhythmically engaging sound. The music magazine Gramophone praised the piece as “a fresh work with layers of beautiful textures.” It has also received recognition through competitions associated with New Dublin Voices, the Busan International Choral Festival, and Ensemble Altera. (Art & Media)
