Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka have been sent to five days of judicial custody in Tihar Jail following a protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. Their third associate, Ajinkya Shinde, has been allowed to leave after furnishing a peace bond. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi criticised the action, saying that peacefully protesting and waving the national flag is not a crime. Police allege the leaders violated bond conditions and obstructed public servants. CJP is also opposing Jantar Mantar’s removal from Delhi’s designated protest sites.
