Animation – Stechford to Aston Bridge replacement

This animation demonstrates how eight spans of an existing nine-span viaduct will be demolished and replacied with a new single span bridge. The new SAS13 bridge will be the longest single span rail bridge in the Midlands and one of the largest in the UK. It weighs 2,600 tonnes, is 92-metres long and will become operational during May 2022.
