Mortal Shell 2 Ep15 Genessa the Wayward

Mortal Shell 2 — Episode 15: Genessa the Wayward Back in the valley of the worshipped the snow pretended nothing had been lost. Sester Secundus kept her last vigil of censers, and in the Revenant Graves a funeral opened that we were not dressed for: Genessa Prime asked if we would join her willingly — refused, she gave us herself anyway. Far off, Gorf drank our moonshine like a creditor and left a pearl behind. Eight legs under the Ashen Sanctum offered figures instead of names, and from the frozen dark we pulled the gland the world had been saving for somebody's resurrection. Droeg, the Conquerer, swung all of winter at us twice — once as ourselves, stripped of borrowed patience, and once again in a dead exile's armor, buying off his frost — until he fell and the world filed its complaint in tarstone. Down the Silent Steps, Sariel the Endless asked what we had done; death kept every coin of gloom we carried and left it politely where we fell, and the retrieval, naturally, was on us. We took the exile's flesh at last, thorns and all, and let his eggs keep their question. In the marsh the frog finally got its thanks, and Hilga left us a mask: the shape of being cared for. 50 deaths. 31h 38m in the world.
