Two giant topwater bass in the first hour… and then the bite completely disappeared. Day 2 of the EDAK Bass Club Tournament of Champions on Rush Lake was a grind from start to finish. After finishing 3rd place on Day 1, Michael and I blasted off in 3rd for the final day with one goal: make a run at the lead. We went right back to what had worked for us the day before — shallow water and topwater fishing. And the morning started exactly how we hoped. Within the first hour, we caught two absolute giants on buzzbaits: 🎣 4.3 LB largemouth 🎣 5.3 LB largemouth Unfortunately, those were the only two fish we could put in the boat during the morning bite. From there, the fishing got extremely tough. We had to scrape, scratch and claw our way to a limit, eventually filling it about halfway through the tournament. Most of the rest of our fish were smaller, ranging from roughly 1–2.5 pounds. We eventually moved out deep, where Michael caught a key 2.5-pound largemouth that helped us upgrade our smallest fish. At the end of the day, we brought just under 17 pounds to the scales. It wasn't enough to move us up the leaderboard, and we ultimately finished 3rd place overall in the Tournament of Champions. Even though we couldn't close it out, 3rd place is our best finish ever in the EDAK Bass Club Tournament of Champions, and we're extremely proud of how the tournament played out.
