This beginner friendly recipe is perfect for anyone who loves a traditional cup of Ceylon milk tea. Ingredients (3 servings) 1 cup water 3 tsp Ceylon black tea leaves 2 cups full cream milk 3 to 4 tsp sugar, or to taste Method Bring the water to a boil in a saucepan. Add the Ceylon black tea leaves and simmer on low heat for 2 to 3 minutes. Pour in the milk and bring the mixture to a boil, stirring gently. Reduce the heat and allow the tea to simmer gently for another 2 to 3 minutes to develop a deeper colour and flavour. Add sugar to taste and stir well. For a deeper colour and flavour, turn off the heat, cover the saucepan and let the tea rest for another 5 minutes if desired. Strain into cups and enjoy your homemade Sri Lankan milk tea while hot.
