I dreamed of living in South Korea for years.
So eventually, I made it happen.
I moved to Korea, studied Korean, changed my visa, started working, built a life there - and even turned photography into a career.
For a while, it felt like I was living the dream I had imagined for so long.
But eventually, I started asking myself a different question:
Is this actually the life I want?
In this video, I’m sharing the real story of my experience living in South Korea - why I wanted to move there in the first place, what I loved about living there, how I built a career, what became difficult, and why I ultimately decided to leave.
This isn’t a video about whether Korea is “good” or “bad.”
It’s about what happens when you finally achieve something you dreamed about… and realize that the dream doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the right life for you.
Korea gave me so much - friendships, memories, confidence, experiences, and a career I could take with me.
And I don’t regret going.
But sometimes you don’t leave a country because it’s a bad country.
You leave because the life you can build there doesn’t feel like the life you want anymore.
If you’ve ever moved abroad and realized that reality was different from what you imagined, I’d love to hear your story in the comments 🤍
