Baldwin Locomotive Works 26: Doing the Scranton Shuffle (August/September 2026)

Watch in 1080p60 To anyone that likes trains, the city of Scranton, Pennsylvania is a great place to visit. Home to several different museums, the most well-known is steam town national historic site. Located on the former side of Delaware Lackawana and Western shops, it hosts a wide collection of rail equipment in interactive exhibits to help visitors learn about history. But one of the biggest draws of the site, is the regular train rides that run Friday through Sunday spring through fall. Most of the time, the power for these trains is Baldwin locomotive works 0-6-0 switcher No. 26. Built in March 1929, 26 is a small yet fascinating little engine. Donning its classic Green paint, it shuffles around the Scranton yard with anywhere between 2 and 4 coaches in tow. Taken over three separate weekends in August and September 2026, enjoy Baldwin 26 doing what I call the Scranton Shuffle, and at the end, preparing for an afternoon excursion to Carbondale Pennsylvania.
