From 4:00–5:00 PM the Miami River by Brickell Bridge stayed busy in bright late‑afternoon sun with a stiff breeze roughing up the water and leaving long, swirling wakes as the PTZ tracked 33 passing boats, including multiple small center‑consoles, a triple‑outboard powerboat, and several mid‑size cruisers (one close pass showed six people aboard and another had a sunbather stretched out on the bow). Marine radio chatter centered on coordinating a scheduled Brickell Bridge lift around 4:30, with boats staging and then being let through—three ran under the span, and several others were followed as they cleared the bridge and headed out toward Biscayne Bay. A bright red TowBoatUS response/tow vessel also worked the area, cutting through the chop near the bridge as afternoon traffic and riverwalk pedestrians continued along the shoreline.
