Operation Barras: SAS Raid on West Side Boys, Sierra Leone 2000

11 British soldiers vanish into a jungle ruled by the West Side Boys. What follows is the SAS's riskiest rescue in decades. Go inside the real Operation Barras: a hostage crisis that spiraled from tense negotiations to a dawn air assault. See how a smuggled map hidden in a pen lid changed everything, why a satellite phone became a secret locator, and how a four-man OP crawled through swamp for days to get eyes on target. Hear the moment Chinooks thundered in, ropes dropped, and the plan instantly shifted under fire. Find out who hid under a bed when the doors blew, what nearly grounded the paratroopers on landing, and the split-second calls that kept the hostages moving. No spoilers here – only the stakes, the grit, and the turning points that made this mission legendary. Watch to the end for the decisions, the discipline, and the consequences that ended a war’s momentum. Don’t miss this definitive look at the SAS in action. #OperationBarras #SAS #SierraLeone #WestSideBoys #HostageRescue #SpecialForces #BlackOps #Documentary
