This is the first Piano Journal recording in the updated room with new acoustic panels. My wife and I installed panels in the ceiling and on one wall to smooth out the sound. They look great visually, and I wanted to see if they would make the room sound more balanced for recordings on my Yamaha C3. The change is subtle. When mixing, I noticed the room sounded slightly different. Compared to previous recordings, it feels more professional and controlled, with a smoother sound. It removes some standing frequencies, distributing energy more evenly. If you pay attention, you’ll notice the audio quality is smoother and more pleasant. In my opinion, it makes the piano sound a bit sweeter in the space. Take a listen to the recording and let me know what you think in the comments. If you can tell a difference between the recordings, I did use a different reverb plug-in on this one, which has a different character, but the main change is the room treatment. Let me know your thoughts! Listen to the Piano Journal playlist:    • The Piano Journal   ----- What is The Piano Journal? The Piano Journal is spontaneously composed piano recordings on a real acoustic piano. It's setting up microphones, sitting down, and playing whatever comes to mind. There's no pre-practice. It's playing and recording in the moment. I call it “spontaneous composition.” Why There's never really been a way to capture the music-writing process. Everything we hear on Spotify, Apple Music, or the radio is the polished, final mix. Nothing captures the creative process, the inspiration that happens in a moment of what performing music composers experience. The Piano Journal captures the inspiration behind an improvised solo piano performance. Is it difficult and intimidating? Yes, it can be. When you play, you're writing a song, playing it, and recording, all in real-time. There are no retakes, do-overs, or edits. If you make a mistake, as in life, you roll with it and don't let it ruin what you can accomplish if you move forward. The Listener Experience You can see where the energy builds, how a story emerges from each note. You can actually see the track being recorded on my in Ableton Live session when you watch the video. I’m doing this for people like me, who love solo piano music. They want to listen while they study, focus on their work, meditate, do yoga, or take a walk in nature to contemplate life. If you are drawn to the beautiful mystery of piano music, then I encourage you to follow the Piano Journal Playlist:    • The Piano Journal   You can listen to my music on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/4hCFi...
