Others become a journey of their own. “Tujh Mein Ik Aalam-e-Baqa Hai Abhi” is a deeply personal musical interpretation of poetry by Yawar Habib Dar, a poem carrying grief, silence, longing, hope, and the quiet realization that even after everything seems lost, something within us is still alive. This is the fourth poetry/lyrics piece that Yawar Habib Dar has shared with me, and once again, I wanted to preserve the essence of his words while building a musical world that could move naturally with the poetry. The musical arrangement was developed around the emotional movement of the poetry. The intention was never to overpower the poetry, but to give each line the space and emotion it deserves. The central thought of the song is found in the line: “Tujh Mein Ik Aalam-e-Baqa Hai Abhi” Even when everything appears to have ended, something within us remains. THE STORY BEHIND THE VISUALS While working on this song, a story slowly formed in my mind, although it was difficult to visualize at first. A woman has been feeling lost for a long time. Carrying memories she cannot seem to leave behind, she finally decides to take a journey alone on her motorcycle. She carries a necklace that someone once gave her, a small object carrying the emotional weight of a past she has been unable to let go of. During her journey through a remote landscape, she comes across a little girl. In a quiet and unexpected moment, she gives the necklace to the girl. And something changes. As she continues her journey, she realizes that she is no longer carrying the emotional weight attached to that necklace. The journey that began as an escape becomes something else, a release. She is finally moving forward with a lighter heart and a freer soul. Perhaps that is what “Tujh Mein Ik Aalam-e-Baqa Hai Abhi” means to me: even after loss, pain, silence, and endings, there is still something within us that survives.
