The station is on the Merseyrail network, which can be accessed from the National Rail network at Liverpool and Southport. The start can be accessed by bus, using the F3 Formby circular currently operated by Cumfybus. Note- it does not run on Sundays. The walk takes you to features in and around Formby Point, which juts out onto the Mersey Estuary. The area is managed by The National Trust. These features in order of visitation are The Devils Hole, ROC nuclear Cold War Bunker and The Lost Resort.
