Brandon McCoy Jr. | Two-Way Impact vs. Lithuania | Michigan Basketball

Brandon McCoy Jr. provided an encouraging first look in live action for Michigan against Lithuania. The freshman guard showed his value on both ends of the floor with on-ball defensive pressure, a consistent motor, transition play and the ability to operate as a secondary initiator. McCoy also attacked the basket, finished through traffic, showed court vision and knocked down perimeter shots. His responsibility increased during the second half as Michigan dealt with foul trouble among several primary ball handlers and scoring options. That forced McCoy into extended creation duties against experienced international competition. There were freshman moments — including turnovers, forced possessions and areas where he will need to continue learning how to control pace — but the overall versatility translated.
