Pera Müzesi, Performistanbul iş birliğiyle Suna ve İnan Kıraç Vakfı koleksiyon sergilerinden ilham alan “Yeniden Bak” performans programını sundu. Sanatçılar İ. Ata Doğruel, AslieMk ve Ekin Bernay Pera Müzesi’ndeki Oryantalist Resim, Kütahya Çini ve Seramikleri, Anadolu Ağırlık ve Ölçüleri koleksiyon sergilerine yeni bir bakış sunmayı amaçladı. Performistanbul’un kurucu direktörü Simge Burhanoğlu küratörlüğündeki program 31 Mart – 2 Nisan 2017 tarihleri arasında müzemizdeydi.
Ekin Bernay’ın 9 Taş (9 Stone) başlıklı performansı Anadolu Ağırlık ve Ölçüleri koleksiyon sergisine gönderme yapıyor. İzleyicilerin aktif rol aldığı bu performansta sanatçı Bernay, beden ilişkisini keşfetmek, beden özgürlüğü ve beden ağırlıkları konularına eğiliyor.
Ekin Bernay hakkında
Performans sanatçısı, dans ve hareket psikoterapisti Ekin Bernay (d. 1987, Ankara) Londra’da yaşıyor. 19 yıldır dans eden ve Londra’da Sadlers Wells, The Place gibi önemli sahnelerde yer alan alan sanatçı, Bilkent Üniversitesi’nde İletişim ve Tasarım bölümünde lisans eğitimini tamamladıktan sonra lisansüstü eğitimini London College of Fashion’da Moda Endüstrisi Tasarım Yönetimi üzerine ve University of Roehampton’da Dans ve Hareket Psikoterapisi üzerine yaptı. Sanatçı kimliğinin yanı sıra dans terapisti olarak down sendromlu, otizmli bireylerle ve yetişkin ruh sağlığı alanında da çalışmaktadır.

Pera Museum presented a performance program entitled "Look Again" between March 31 and April 2, 2017 in collaboration with Performistanbul. Inspired by Pera Museum Suna and İnan Kıraç Foundation’s collection exhibitions, the program featured performances by artists AslieMk, Ekin Bernay, and I. Ata Doğruel.
Pera Museum’s new public program Look Again presented in collaboration with Performistanbul aimed to celebrate the art of performance as well as the visitor experience through the museum’s collection exhibitions. Curated by Simge Burhanoğlu, founding director of Performistanbul "Look Again" will took place over three days throughout the Pera Museum’s collection exhibitions: Intersecting World: Ambassadors and Painters, Coffee Break: Kütahya Tiles and Ceramics, and Anatolian Weights and Measures. The artists I. Ata Doğruel, AslieMk, and Ekin Bernay had been working closely with the museum’s collections and presented their own interpretations. This performance program hoped to facilitate a new look into the museum’s collection and exhibiting practices..
Ekin Bernay’s performance 9 Stone is a reference to the Anatolian Weights and Measures collection exhibition. Active audience participation was required during this performance where Bernay focused on questions such as the rediscovery of the relation between body and soul, the freedom of the body, and body weight. Participants were bound to have a unique experience during this performance!
Ekin Bernay (b. Ankara, 1987) is a performance artist, dance and movement psychotherapist living in London. A Performistanbul artist, Bernay has been dancing for 19 years, going on stage at leading London venues such as Sadler’s Wells and The Place. After earning her undergraduate degree at the Communications and Design Department of Bilkent University, the artist received a graduate degree in Fashion Industry Design Management at London College of Fashion and Dance and Movement Psychotherapy at University of Roehampton. Besides her work as an artist, Bernay works as dance therapist with individuals with Down syndrome and autism as well as in the area of adult psychology.
