5,500km Father & Son Adventure - Norway Road Trip from the UK

A 5,500km Norway road trip by motorhome from the UK — and one last big adventure with my son Sam before he leaves home for university. We travelled through six countries on a three-week father-and-son road trip, exploring Norway's fjords, waterfalls, mountain roads and some of its best hikes — with plenty of cycling, camping and questionable camper-van decisions along the way. This trip was about more than seeing Norway. At 18 Sam was about to head off to university, so it was a chance for us to spend some proper time together before life changes and the next chapter begins. Our route took us from the UK through the Netherlands, Germany and Denmark before heading into Norway and eventually returning through Sweden. Along the way we explored Vøringsfossen, cycled the old Gamle Riksveg 7 through Måbødalen, hiked the four waterfalls of Husedalen Valley, walked Dronningstien – Queen Sonja's Panoramic Hiking Trail, crossed Hardangerbrua, explored the UNESCO-listed Nærøyfjord, drove Tindevegen, climbed Lomseggen, travelled through Geiranger, drove the spectacular Ørnevegen / Eagle Road, walked behind Storsæterfossen, descended Trollstigen, visited Trollveggen, drove the Atlantic Ocean Road – Atlanterhavsvegen, visited Røros, and crossed into Sweden to hike to Njupeskär waterfall in Fulufjället National Park.
