COTSWOLDS WALK FEATURING LONGBOROUGH, SEZINCOTE AND BOURTON-ON-THE-HILL "Longborough, Sezincote and Bourton-on-the-Hill” Filmed 22nd August 2026 Post-production completed 6th September 2026 I return to the Cotswolds in the first of four films shot in the area in August 2026. The Cotswolds is a range of rolling hills rising from the meadows of the upper River Thames to an escarpment above the Severn Valley and the Vale of Evesham. The region covers the boundaries of several English counties, mainly Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire, and parts of Wiltshire, Somerset, Worcestershire, and Warwickshire. The mostly rural landscape contains stone-built villages, towns, stately homes and gardens featuring the local golden-coloured Cotswold stone. A large area within the Cotswolds was designated as a National Landscape in 1966 covering 787 square miles, making it the largest UK National Landscape. Whilst I was on leave from work for two weeks at the end of August and start of September, I knew at some point during this period I would be travelling down to North Somerset again to visit my Mum for a few days. At the last minute, I decided to book 3 nights’ accommodation in a location from where I could afterwards move on to where Mum lives. Therefore, I chose the Cotswolds, where I last visited back in October 2017. I found a good deal in a Premier Inn in Cheltenham, so I selected four walks in the Cotswolds that I could film, which would be in easy reach of Cheltenham. The walk in this film starts and ends in the village of Longborough, heading in a straight line along the Heart of England Way to Bourton-on-the-Hill, passing close to the impressive and unusual Sezincote House. The return leg takes a more circuitous route across fields. Throughout the walk, there are fine views over the countryside of the north Cotswolds. Filmed in the county of Gloucestershire. Locations include Longborough, Sezincote and Bourton-on-the-Hill. I will be publishing the remainder of my Cotswolds films on a fortnightly basis. Written, presented, researched, directed, camera and sound, edited and music by Patrick Leach. Special thanks to John Brooks, Brian Conduit, Tom Hutton, Nick Channer and Cotswolds Tourism for their information used in my research for this film. "The Solitary Rambler" is my series of amateur films of my journeys in the countryside accompanied by my own musical scores, which I compose and perform on my Yamaha keyboard. Please note that, as with all the films I make, this is not actually intended to be an extensive guide to the area. This is a mini-movie of my personal journey along the walk, in which I often share some of my own personal stories. If you are new to my YouTube channel, I strongly recommend reading the description on the home page, which will provide a clearer understanding of what to expect in my films:    / solitaryrambler   There is also a short “Introduction to the Solitary Rambler” video, which briefly explains what my films are all about:    / solitaryrambler   DISCLAIMER: Although I work hard to ensure all information is correct to the best of my knowledge, I am only featuring information I have found online and/or in books during my research when putting this film together, so I cannot guarantee that there are no mistakes or errors.
