25 FORGOTTEN Electronics Every 1980s Family Thought Were the Future In 1983, Time magazine named a computer its "Machine of the Year," and families everywhere were told the future had finally arrived in the living room. They believed it. They spent a week's pay on calculator watches, satellite dishes, laser discs and car phones, certain they were buying tomorrow. Most of them were wrong about the gadget, but surprisingly right about the dream. In this video, we count down 25 forgotten electronics that every 1980s family swore were the future: the toys that glowed, the machines that talked, the formats that lost, and the one box in the corner that really did change everything. Number 14 cost more than a used car and was obsolete within three years. Number 3 was so far ahead of its time that we are only now living in the world it promised. Stay until the end to find out which one was number 1. 💬 TELL ME IN THE COMMENTS Go find one of these in your parents' attic or your own basement.
