During my one-day transit in Istanbul, I explored the streets around Galata Bridge and Eminönü to discover some of the city’s most famous street foods. I found charcoal-grilled corn, roasted chestnuts, chicken and chickpea rice, colourful Turkish delight, pistachio baklava, regional cheeses, olives and freshly pressed black seed oil. Near Galata Bridge, I visited the famous floating kitchens serving balık ekmek—grilled fish sandwiches filled with lettuce and onions. I also discovered syrup-soaked lokma, stretchy Maraş ice cream and turşu suyu, a salty and sour pickle drink traditionally enjoyed with fish sandwiches. There was far more food than I could try during one short transit. Which Turkish street food would you choose first? 👍 If you enjoy street food, local markets and travel videos, please like the video, subscribe to the channel and share it!
