#NHL #Panthers #Hurricanes #NHLOpeningNight Panthers vs Hurricanes LIVE for NHL Opening Night and Week 1 of the 2026-27 NHL season! The last three Stanley Cup champions collide as Carolina raises its championship banner against Florida. This is a LIVE WATCH-ALONG with live reaction, play-by-play commentary and hockey discussion from a Pittsburgh-based fan perspective. Who starts the new NHL season with a statement win? Florida enters opening night with a completely revamped story: Aleksander Barkov is back after missing all of last season, Brady Tkachuk makes his regular-season Panthers debut alongside his brother Matthew, and Jacob Markstrom takes over in net. Carolina enters as the defending Stanley Cup champions after beating Vegas in six games. Jordan Staal returns as Conn Smythe Trophy winner, Brandon Bussi gets the projected opening-night start against his former team, and the Canes get to raise their championship banner before puck drop. And then there's the history: Florida eliminated Carolina in the 2023 Eastern Conference Final and did it again in the 2025 Eastern Conference Final. The Panthers won the 2025 series 4-1, making this an especially interesting opening-night matchup. Florida also missed the playoffs last season for the first time since 2019, with 541 regular-season man-games lost to injury. Now Barkov is back, Brady Tkachuk is in, and the Panthers are trying to start a completely different chapter. 🔥 WHO WINS NHL OPENING NIGHT? 💬 Drop your score prediction in chat! 🏒 Are the Panthers ready to bounce back? 🏆 What does the Hurricanes' banner night look like?
