How To Fire Roll Cotton And Wood Ashes, Why It Works

Wood ashes contain Potassium Carbonate that turns to Lye (Sodium Hydroxide) when water is added. I think there’s enough moisture in all the usable exterior fibers, not just this cotton, to say that the chemical component within is Lye. Wood ashes also have a micro grit that will create great friction inside a fire roll. I want to stress that I am supposing here... I THINK, the reason why a wood ashes fire roll is the easiest of all is because of chemical reaction and friction.
