Hauling every piece of equipment by hand across a water barrier, she establishes a self-contained woodland camp designed to withstand the damp chill. From chopping heavy birch logs and lashing a structural extension with a greenery roof, to installing a highly efficient wood stove and cooking calorie-dense meals directly on mature hardwood coals, every step is a masterclass in wilderness survival. As the golden hour sets in, the completed earthen shelter comes alive with string lights, radiating warmth into the twilight while her loyal dog stands guard.
