We’ve just got back from an amazing week at Hotel Riu Gran Canaria, 4 Star All Inclusive Hotel and this video is our full walk-around and honest review of the RIU hotel based in Mespalomas/Meloneras, Gran Canaria. 📍 Address: Urbanización Las Meloneras, Avenida del Mediterráneo, s/n, 35100 Maspalomas, Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, Spain 📅 Stayed: 3rd February – 10th February 2026 ☀️ Weather: Nearly Wall-to-wall sunshine all week! From the moment we arrived, the hotel felt spacious, clean and really well laid out. It’s right on the beachfront in Meloneras, so you’ve got direct access to the promenade and incredible views of the Atlantic Ocean and incredible sunset every evening (priceless). The Pools (The Highlight!) Without a doubt, the infinity pool was the standout for us. Watching the sunset from there in early February sunshine was just unreal. The colours over the ocean in the evening were something else. There are multiple pools around the resort, including family areas and quieter spots, so there’s plenty of choice depending on what kind of vibe you want that day. Food & Drink The hotel is 24-hour all-inclusive, which is always a bonus. There’s a large main buffet with live cooking stations and loads of choice, plus speciality restaurants offering different cuisines. We’ve filmed detailed food and drink reviews which will be coming in separate vlogs, but overall we were really impressed with the variety and quality. Main Buffet - Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Amore Mio - Breakfast Buffet Atlantico Restaurant - Lunch Buffet Pepe's - Lunch/Afternoon Burger Bar Kaori - Asian (Buffet) Atalntico - Steak House - A la Carte Amore Mio - Italian (Buffet) Another One? - A la Carte Restaurant Loads of bars dotted around the hotel too, so you’re never far from a drink during the day or something chilled in the evening before the entertainment starts. The Room In this main video we’ve included a full room tour so you can see exactly what to expect. Ours was modern, comfortable and well maintained, with everything we needed for the week. Having that balcony space to relax in the sun was definitely appreciated. Facilities There’s loads going on at the hotel: Multiple outdoor swimming pools Adults-only infinity pool Beachfront location Gym and wellness/spa area Daytime activities and evening entertainment Kids’ club and family-friendly facilities It really caters for both couples and families, which we liked. Exploring the Local Area In our upcoming vlogs we’ll also be exploring: Maspalomas (including the dunes) Playa del Inglés Meloneras promenade Puerto Rico The marina next to Meloneras (Puerto Deportivo Pasito Blanco area) We always like to get out and about rather than just stay in the hotel, and this area of Gran Canaria is perfect for that. The promenade walks alone are worth it. Final Thoughts We absolutely loved this holiday. Early February turned out to be the perfect time to go, warm, sunny and not overwhelmingly busy. The infinity pool at sunset was the highlight for us, but overall it was just a really relaxing, easy, enjoyable week away. We’d genuinely recommend Hotel Riu Gran Canaria to anyone looking for a solid all-inclusive in a great location with beautiful views. More detailed food reviews, drinks reviews and local area vlogs coming soon on The Cockney and The Geordie Adventures 🍹☀️
