EIDR MINN STENDR is an ancient-inspired Old Norse Viking chant about the strength of an oath, the bond between companions, and the promise to stand together until the very end.
A sword rests at the belt. A hand holds the hilt. The word has been given — and once an oath is spoken, it cannot simply be taken back.
This song draws from the ancient Norse ideals of honor, loyalty, brotherhood, courage, and keeping one's word. It tells of companions standing shield beside shield, refusing to abandon one another when others flee.
The heart of the song is the repeated oath:
“Eiðr minn stendr” — my oath stands.
Day and night, through life and death, the promise remains unchanged.
In the old Norse world, an oath was more than a promise. Words carried weight, loyalty defined relationships, and the bonds between companions could endure through hardship, exile, battle, and death. The song transforms these themes into a powerful Nordic composition built around deep male vocals, heavy drums, ancient-inspired instrumentation, and a growing warrior choir.
From the first whispered promise to the final voices declaring “saman vér” — together we, the song becomes a celebration of those who remain at each other's side when everything else falls away.
If you enjoy Viking music, Old Norse songs, Nordic folk, Viking chants, ancient Scandinavian music, Norse mythology, warrior music, Viking brotherhood songs, and powerful Nordic soundscapes, let this oath be heard.

Lyrics:
Sverð er bundit,
belti fast.
Hönd á hjalti,
auga vast.
Orð er gefit,
ei má snúa.
Einn skal standa,
ef aðrir flýja.
Seg mér nú,
hvat þú vilt.
Orð þín standa,
hjarta skilt.
Eiðr minn stendr,
eiðr minn stendr.
Dag ok nótt,
aldri breytist.
Eiðr minn stendr,
eiðr minn stendr.
Líf ok dauði,
saman förum.
Vinr við vin,
skjöldr við skjöld.
Engi maðr
stendr einn hér.
Góður félagi
geymir orð.
Tryggr til enda,
hvar sem fer.
Seg mér nú,
hvat þú vilt.
Orð þín standa,
hjarta skilt.
Eiðr minn stendr,
eiðr minn stendr.
Dag ok nótt,
aldri breytist.
Eiðr minn stendr,
eiðr minn stendr.
Líf ok dauði,
saman förum.
Eitt orð gefit.
Einn eiðr borinn.
Engi ótti.
Engin svik.
Hönd í hönd.
Hlið við hlið.
Fram til enda.
Saman vér.
Eiðr minn stendr,
eiðr minn stendr.
Dag ok nótt,
aldri breytist.
Eiðr minn stendr,
eiðr minn stendr.
Líf ok dauði,
saman förum.
Eiðr minn stendr...
eiðr minn stendr...
saman vér...
til enda.
