Male wild elephants are often solitary. At one time each year, males flock to herds of elephants in search of a mate. This elephant called Barana comes near Kalawewa for a while and finds its mate. If he finds a suitable mate in the herd, he will spend a few days with the elephant in the herd. Paduwa returns to his usual routine.
