From Logs to a Full Shed of Firewood

#firewood #firewoodprocessing In this video, I take a full load of tree-length logs from the wood pile all the way to finished, stacked firewood in my firewood shed. Using my Caterpillar 302.5 mini excavator and Stihl MS 441 chainsaw, I pull the logs from the pile and cut them into firewood-length rounds. The larger rounds are loaded into my 7x14 dump trailer behind my 2001 Ford F-350 and brought over to my firewood splitting station. Most of this video is set to music for easy, enjoyable viewing as you watch the entire process unfold from start to finish. From there, the Phoenix firewood splitter gets to work. After upgrading the splitter with a Predator 420cc engine and building a custom firewood table, the split wood is carried up the firewood conveyor and dropped directly into the firewood shed. Because of weather and everything else going on, this complete load took about 1–2 weeks to cut, split, and stack. By the end of the process, my 7x24 firewood shed is approximately two-thirds full of finished split firewood.
