Seventy-five real photographs of the most feared outlaws of the American West, and the
lawmen who hunted them, from the Missouri guerrillas of the 1860s to the last train
robbers of 1912.
This time the story is told by how each of them ended. Shot in the back: Jesse James in
Saint Joseph, Wild Bill Hickok in Deadwood, John Wesley Hardin in El Paso, Belle Starr on
an Indian Territory road. Cut down by the towns they tried to rob: the James-Younger gang
at Northfield and the Daltons at Coffeyville. Hunted down: Billy the Kid, Bill Doolin and
the Wild Bunch. Sent to the gallows by Judge Isaac Parker's court at Fort Smith: Cherokee
Bill and the Rufus Buck gang, and Black Jack Ketchum in New Mexico. Locked up: Butch
Cassidy, the Younger brothers, Grat Dalton, Pearl Hart and Laura Bullion. And the few who
died in bed: Frank James, Cole Younger, Wyatt Earp and Bat Masterson.
None of these images is AI or a reconstruction. They are archive photographs, period
engravings, newspaper pages and court records. When a photo has never been proven, the
video says so.
