MICHEL DE NOTREDAME — A Ballad in Quatrains Michel de Notredame was a physician, astrologer and enigmatic writer whose name would become inseparable from prophecy. This ballad follows his life one quatrain at a time: Saint-Rémy, Montpellier, the plague, the loss of his first family, his years of wandering, Salon-de-Provence, the court of Catherine de' Medici, and the mysterious Centuries that would make him famous long after his death. Each verse becomes a page. Each page becomes a prophecy. And when the final quatrain is reached, the prophet himself is already gone. July 2, 1566. The priest arrived too late. The centuries are finished. The centuries go on.
