Battle of the Siro-Drones... well a faker vs the real deal. Unlike with the Mach 1 vs JDW245, however, the Siro-Drone falls short, but can you really blame it, considering the JDL400 is like over 2 inches larger in diameter and its motor is bigger? lol Let me be upfront with anyone reading this and give you all a warning... be very careful with sirens and really anything on the high-powered side of things in general when it comes to dealing with electricity. This test was cut short due to the amount of power both sirens drew. As I mentioned in the video, the Siro-Drone pulls about 10 amps from the wall and the Sntoom about 15. Together, both pull 25, and while the wire gauge combined with the length is able to handle that amount of power on one line relatively okay as far as I understand, my plug and receptacle aren't as they are rated at 20 amps. The breaker that this is all tied to is rated at 40 amps, so this setup is kinda playing loose and fast with the rules as I don't have a subpanel with other breakers to stop overcurrent situations. In other words, this is a big no-no and very much a "don't try this at home" moment. I understand this and monitor my stuff to make sure no accidents happen. Don't mess around with electricity like this unless you know what you are doing or, at the very least, keep a close eye on things and know what you are dealing with to avoid a potential catastrophe. When I canceled them out of alert initially, I checked the wire and plug to see if they were hot. The wire itself was slightly warm and the plug cool to the touch, so I let them go for a few more seconds. After that, I stopped it and actually pulled the plug to see how the prongs and receptacle were holding up. They were quite warm by that point but not too hot to burn me or cause a meltdown and fire. That said, running these two together exceeded the limits of the setup, at least as far as the receptacle goes. I will need to replace it with something more substantial or rework my setup to have two 240V 20-amp sockets and use my 10-gauge extension cord if I want to run these two like this again in the future and keep them on for a longer run.
