From Forest to Enterprise: The Inspiring Journey of NOHEFE Youth Group | RODI Kenya

From indigenous herbs in the forests of Nyeri Hill to a growing youth-led enterprise, this is the story of NOHEFE Youth Group. What began as a group of young people exploring local resources has grown into a journey of herbs, organic vegetables, value addition and coffee processing. With guidance and support from RODI Kenya, the youth have built their skills, embraced local resource mobilization and turned available resources into opportunities for sustainable livelihoods. Their journey includes the introduction of a solar dryer, their first KES 8,000 in sales at the Nyeri Kihuyo Field Day, the opening of a shop in Nyeri Town, and their growing work in organic farming and coffee processing. This is more than a story about a project. It is a story about youth, ownership, resilience and the power of community-led development.
