Archie Moore: The Seventeen Years Boxing Made Him Wait

Archie Moore waited roughly seventeen years for a world title shot, and by the time boxing opened the door, no one could say for certain how old he was. This documentary follows the light heavyweight known as the Old Mongoose from St. Louis and the boxing world of the 1930s and 1940s to his title win over Joey Maxim, his knockdown of Rocky Marciano, and his comeback against Yvon Durelle after four knockdowns. It examines what a career built around survival cost him, why he kept fighting into his forties, and what happened on the night a young Cassius Clay ended it. A serious look at one of boxing history's most durable and least understood fighters. #ArchieMoore #Boxing #BoxingHistory #BoxingDocumentary #LightHeavyweight #boxinglegends
