Casting Barbados Casuarina cones in resin

A friend of mine went on vacation to Barbados and brought back these little treats for me to cast in resin. These are Casuarina cones from a tree commonly called whistling pines. These trees are prominent along the shoreline and these little cones litter the ground below. In this video I had to measure the mold I was using to calculate how much resin to use and divide it in half for two colors. I used purple and white dye and shimmery powder. After pouring the resin over the cones it went into a pressure pot under 70 psi to make any air bubbles microscopic. After work tomorrow I will remove the mold from the pressure pot and demold. I set a few cones aside to cast them in a different color for a set. Thanks for watching.
