Sounds The music of JOHN GOLLAND

Project curator Paul Hindmarsh introduces a recording by the Foden's Brass Band (2026 British Open Champions) of the major works by composer John Golland (1942-1993), who is best remembered for his band music. Included are three major works commissioned from bands and festivals in Switzerland, which Golland visited many times, and a version for brass band (created by Hindmarsh) of Golland's little known Tuba Concerto, with Ross Knight a supreme advocate for it. The album is released on 3rd October on the Doyen Label and available for streaming and download from www.worldofsound.com.
