Hinton’s downtown Historic District was officially listed on the National Register of Historic Places on February 17, 1984. Since 1987, community leaders and the National Park Service have worked together to revitalize the area into a stunning "living museum". From the windshield perspective, you will glide past some of the district's 200 historic buildings—including historic churches, storefronts, and private residences displaying varying styles of American Gothic, Classical, High Victorian, American Four Square, and Greek Revival architecture.
