*Leaks everywhere, stubborn repairs, and one absolutely disgusting discovery! Welcome to Episode 3 of our storm-damaged Leopard 48 refit!* This time, we're working through a growing list of freshwater plumbing leaks aboard our neglected 2015 Leopard 48. What should be fairly straightforward repairs end up requiring a lot more patience than expected, particularly when I get into a frustrating battle with a bathroom (head) faucet that refuses to come apart! We spend time tracking down leaks throughout the freshwater system, assessing what needs attention, and gradually working our way through the problems. Nothing particularly glamorous, but these are the jobs that need to happen before we can start enjoying this boat again. We also check in with Derek, who's making great progress permanently removing and fiberglassing over the escape hatches. He walks us through some of his work, including the gelcoat repairs. *And then we make a pretty disgusting discovery...* While investigating one of the forward compartments, we uncover something we'd really rather not have found. I won't spoil the surprise, but it results in one of the least pleasant cleanup jobs we've tackled so far! That's the reality of restoring a neglected, storm-damaged catamaran. Sometimes you make great progress on exciting projects, and other times you spend hours dealing with stubborn fittings, mysterious leaks, and unpleasant surprises. But every job brings us closer to getting this Leopard 48 back on the water! *STICK AROUND UNTIL THE END!* We've included a few sneak peeks at what's coming in Episode 4, including repairs to the saloon door, work on the saildrives, and removing the rudders. Some interesting projects are coming up! *ABOUT OUR LEOPARD 48 REFIT SERIES* We're documenting the process of bringing our 2015 Leopard 48 back to life, from the initial cleanup and repairs to the major upgrades and eventually getting her back out cruising. I'm still relatively new to filming and editing long-form videos, and I'm learning as I go. This episode comes in at around 35 minutes, and I'd really appreciate your feedback. Do you enjoy seeing the detailed troubleshooting and repair processes, including the frustrations and mistakes along the way? Or would you prefer shorter videos that move through the projects a little faster? We've got a mountain of footage still to edit, and I'm doing my best to get these videos out while continuing to improve the quality! *ENJOYING THE SERIES?* Please give the video a thumbs up, subscribe to our channel, and turn on notifications so you don't miss future episodes. We'd love to hear from you in the comments! Have you ever had a seemingly simple repair turn into a much bigger job? What would you like to see more of as this refit progresses? And if you know someone who enjoys sailing, catamarans, boat repairs, or marine technical projects, please share the series with them! *CHECK OUT THE YACHT RIGGER* When we're not working on our own Leopard 48, our team at The Yacht Rigger helps boat owners with rigging, electrical systems, marine electronics, HVAC, and custom fabrication.
