Thank you for listening to What’s for Breakfast with Jo, a podcast where we sit together and eat Gen Z issues for breakfast. In episode three, Jo reflects on the conflicts we experience in our friendships and relationships, and why sometimes one disagreement can be enough to end an entire relationship. We talk about our ability to tolerate differences, our tendency to walk away too quickly, intimacy, and the space between what we feel and the decisions we make. From there, we ask: Is it really a Gen Z problem? Or are there deeper factors behind the way we relate to conflict, commitment, and intimacy? We talk about the experiences and wounds we carry into our relationships, and how we can sometimes interpret conflict as a threat instead of seeing it as a natural part of human relationships and an opportunity to deepen a friendship. In the final part of the episode, we go back to the foundations of friendship: how friendships form, how we maintain them, and how we build our own village and support system. We also talk about the importance of social relationships for our health and quality of life, and when to repair, renegotiate, or know that it’s time to walk away. Today’s dish: Can We Disagree Without Falling Apart? Hosted by Jo. Whether you’re listening or watching in the morning, afternoon, or night, we’re having breakfast together.
