Colonia del Sacramento is a city in southwestern Uruguay, by the Río de la Plata, facing Buenos Aires, Argentina. Its historic quarter is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We drove from Playa Pinar with our VW camper, 200 km which took us about 2.5 hours. Then we found a lovely shady spot with a little beach, very quiet but safe on the back of the main street. We briefly look at the map then we just start walking and explore the city. We like using our six senses to go and enjoy anything comes to us, we actually don’t care about the tourist attraction that much, we enjoy observe our surroundings, architecture, murals, trees, animals…. Also people, are they tourist or locals? What are people doing? The design of the pavement, traffic lights, the cars, shops, restaurants….. Colonia del Sacramento is a very beautiful city, it attracts a lot of tourists, it is a great place for photographers. Every corner could make a master pieces. By the Bastión de San Pedro is the best spot for sunset. When the sun down you can see Buenos Aires. It is a very nice chill out zone for the end of the day.
