I Bought a Hacky Sack at 63! Here's Why I'm Taking Messy Action What does buying a Hacky Sack at Circle K have to do with starting a YouTube channel? MORE THAN YOU MIGHT THINK! 😂 Years ago, when I worked on Long Island for the Citizens Campaign for the Environment, my coworkers used to gather in a circle and kick a Hacky Sack back and forth while waiting for everyone to arrive before heading out to canvass the neighborhood. I watched them having fun, but because I didn't know how to do it, I never joined in. I felt like I was missing out! Fast-forward to today. I'm driving a taxi in Huntsville, Alabama, stop at Circle K to gas up my van, and what do I see? Hacky Sacks! This time, I bought one. I didn't know how to use it, so I went to YouTube to learn. And that's where I heard a phrase that inspired this entire video: TAKE MESSY ACTION! You don't have to be perfect to begin. You don't have to know everything. And you don't have to wait until you feel completely ready. Whether you're learning a new skill, starting a business, writing a book, trying a new hobby, or thinking about starting a YouTube channel, the principle is the same: sometimes you have to get in the game before you know how to play it! In this video, I'm sharing my Hacky Sack story, reflecting on my former athlete background, and talking about why we should continue learning, growing, and trying new things at every age.
