Biking Home From Work - Oct 6, 2026 5:23pm

Biking home was a bit windy, but not too chilly. The sun was bright and nice. University Avenue northbound is currently a shitshow because of watermain work or something, so I opted for an alternatve route which was slower, with more stops and zig zags, but still got me home. On Richmond Ave I spotted a broken down Cybertruck, which was funny, and otherwise enjoyed being among the stream of cyclists in that bike lane. Next, I headed up John Street and jogged over to Beverley. Seemed like some drivers might have been doing the same thing as me to avoid University Ave since it was heavier than usual. It'll be interesting to see how it all shakes out over time. On Bloor Street there were instances of traffic getting backed up, but a block or two later the road would be wide open. That's just life in the big city. It would be the same without bike lanes. promise.
