Provincial Townhall: The Future of Post-Secondary

An open, non-partisan dialogue with representatives from BC’s major political parties as they share their visions for the post-secondary sector ahead of the upcoming provincial election. From institutional funding and working conditions to research support, access to education, and the affordability of studying and living near campus, the future of post-secondary education raises important questions about the priorities and choices that will shape the sector for years to come. This town hall aimed to bring these perspectives into the conversation, giving attendees an opportunity to hear directly from political parties about their priorities, proposals, and commitments for post-secondary in BC. Organized by the Graduate Student Society at Simon Fraser University (SFU GSS), the University of British Columbia Graduate Student Society (UBC GSS) and the Simon Fraser Student Society (SFSS), in collaboration with SFU School of Public Policy (SFU SPP) and the University of Victoria Graduate Student Society (UVic GSS), this event creates space for a public discussion about the future of higher education in BC.
