He was given 30 minutes to prepare and memorize a speech answering the question, "How will biodiversity loss in the Amazon reshape global conservation efforts?" He received first-place rankings from seven of the eleven judges in the final round. He is the second-ever back-to-back champion of International Extemporaneous Speaking at NSDA Nationals. He won the final round by 7 ranks and the competition by 14 ranks.
