Juan Jose Castro: Corales Criollos No. 3 (1953)

The Argentine composer and conductor, Juan Jose Castro (1895-1968) was one of four musical brothers, including Jose Maria Castro, Washington Castro and Luis Arnaldo Castro. Although his symphonic poem, Corales Criollos No. 3 is his third work of this title, the first two were written for piano and this work is often just referred to as Corales Criollos. The work has a theme and 6 variations followed by a finale. This performance features the Inter-American Festival Orchestra conducted by Julio Malaval.
