North of Pokrovsk, on the road to Dobropillia, the front has turned into a drone kill zone: anything that moves within fifteen or twenty kilometers of the line can be seen, and anything that can be seen can be hit. So when a Russian regiment plans its biggest assault on the sector in months, it has to hide seven hundred men and forty armored vehicles first.
In this scenario, they hide for six nights in the brick barns of an abandoned collective farm, under jammers and drone hunters. A Ukrainian reconnaissance pilot notices fresh tracks, three warm roofs on the thermal camera and a kitchen truck that brings bread every night at ten to four. She counts the bread. Then a HIMARS battery waits for the one moment when all seven hundred men must step into the open and climb into their vehicles — and a dawn fog nearly ruins everything.
Weapon figures are sourced: M142 HIMARS (six GMLRS rockets per pod, crew of three), GMLRS (range about 70 km), M30A1 alternative warhead (airburst about 10 m above the ground, roughly 160,000 tungsten fragments), Shark reconnaissance drone (3.4 m wingspan, 30x zoom, thermal camera, 80 km link, up to 4 hours), BMP-2 (crew of three plus seven soldiers).
