Growing Chestnut Tree From Seed Time Lapse (165 Days)

This time-lapse shows the cold-stratified process and how a chestnut tree growing from a seed to a young plant. We started with a chestnut encased inside a small ziplock filled with moist peat-moss. This was stored in the fridge to chill for 70 days to simulate the Winter, aka cold-stratification. After that, the nut was planted in a pot filled with soil. It took almost a month to see the first sprout. After that, the seedling grew pretty fast and developed tons of leaves and many branches.
