CVC and CCVC Word Chaining (UFLI Lessons 24 and 25)

In this video, Anjanette's kindergartens practice word chaining with CVC and CCVC words. Word chaining efficiently integrates phonemic awareness and phonics instruction, allowing students to practice both encoding and decoding. In addition, students segment and blend sounds, identify each sound’s position within the word, and then change one sound to create a new word. This process helps make the otherwise abstract concepts of blending and segmenting phonemes more concrete.
