Sh117 billion. That's how much the World Bank says Kenya could have saved on the Mombasa–Nairobi SGR if it had matched Tanzania's cost per kilometre 😳 And here's the part that hurts: Tanzania and Ethiopia built electric lines and still paid less. We paid the most, and we got diesel.
We go through the numbers page by page: Sh988 million per km for Kenya vs Sh741 million for Tanzania and Sh689 million for Ethiopia, how the Sh117 billion adds up, why at least 30% of the overrun is blamed on governance and not terrain, and how the World Bank says corruption costs Kenya about 2% of GDP every year.

⚖️ Did Kenya overpay? Yes. By Wanjigi's margin? That's the question
The figures are from the World Bank's Kenya Economic Update (November 2026), Business Daily and NTV; the rest is my opinion. Should Uhuru answer for this? Tell us in the comments 👇
