Consolation No. 3 - Liszt/Julie Cooper

Liszt was a master of melody and he spun beautiful, sometimes haunting, lines. As part of this series of EPs, I really wanted to challenge myself to work on long, floating melodic lines that capture an essence of tranquility and calm. Julie Cooper reworked Liszt’s Consolation No 3 (originally for piano) for saxophone and the ensemble and I think she created such a stunning reimagining. I really hope you enjoy listening and that it brings a moment of peace to your day.
